Upskilling is crucial to future-proofing jobs in the IT sector: Survey

With new technologies and innovations surfacing at an unprecedented rate, it has become imperative for professionals across industries to upskill themselves. After the pandemic, the IT sector has particularly become instrumental in driving the growth of various technologies in India such as artificial intelligencemachine learningcloud computinginternet of things and blockchain.

There is an immediate need for individuals in the IT sector to be highly skilled in several areas, including data visualisation, data analysis, data encryption, cybersecurity, data mining and cloud infrastructure management. Various non-technical roles in IT companies also require a basic understanding of newer technologies.

According to the World Economic Forum, with the existing job roles evolving quickly and new jobs emerging, over 50% of the global workforce will have to be reskilled by 2030. Consequently, these days, we can see many individuals and companies reflecting a massive amount of interest in using upskilling programmes to stay relevant and seek growth.
